ABSA Balloon

You'll find the largest helium balloon and billboard on the continent, tethered near the bird park at Montecasino in Fourways, Johannesburg. The ABSA Balloon operates on a daily basis (weather permitting) and can carry a maximum of 30 people, and is available for private and corporate functions.

The balloon rises high above the Fourways landscape, and has an underground cable it is tethered to. The cable is released slowly via a sophisticated engine and coil system, and uses safe helium gas, which is lighter than air.

Balloon rides last 15 minutes and offer breathtaking panoramic views of Johannesburg, Sandton, Northcliff Hill and the Magaliesburg.
