Parker's Comedy & Jive - The Home of SA Stand-Up Comedy

Parker's Comedy & Jive is the only permanent stand-up comedy club on the African continent and the home of quality South African and International Comedy.

The venue, purpose-built to showcase the art of stand-up comedy, features the best in local and international comedians Thursday-Saturday each week, giving audiences the opportunity to see SA's finest up against top-quality comics from the UK and the USA.

The brainchild of SA comedy stalwart Joe Parker, Parker's Comedy & Jive is the realisation of a long-term dream to provide a regular home for stand-up comedy and also to develop the art as a regular attraction in the vein of theatre and movies. "We have a lot of talented comedians in South Africa, but not a lot of places for them to showcase their great work," says Parker. "With Parker's, Johannesburg is a purpose-built venue run by a team who are passionate about comedy." The venue also obviously offers visitors all the perks of visiting Montecasino, including ample, secure parking, a host of restaurants and a mind-boggling variety of gaming opportunities.

The venue, which seats around 280 people in a relaxed and classy atmosphere, is also available for corporate functions with an option to tailor a comedy lineup to suit your event.

Admission Fees (effective as of 1 March 2010)

- Wednesday evening - R70.00 open at 18:30 pm and show begins at 20:00 pm
- Thursday evenings - R90.00 open at 18:30 pm and show begins at 20:00 pm
- Friday & Saturday evenings - R120.00 open at 18:30 pm and show begins at 20:00 pm
