Come and enjoy Italian tradition, taste and style at the second L’Italia in Piazza festival. This festival will once again take place in the beautiful Tuscan setting of the Montecasino Outdoor Piazza and will run from 16 -19 June.
The L’Italia in Piazza festival this year coincides with the 150th anniversary of Italian Unification.
L’Italia in Piazza at Montecasino is supported by some of the most successful Italian and Italian-South African enterprises such CMC Ravenna, Ferrero, Mastrantonio and The Larimar Group. As a platform for showcasing Italian culture, the festival features an exciting and interactive daily programme:
A new addition to this year’s festival is the Italian food market. Here you can experience authentic Italian cuisine and taste food and wine from all the regions of Italy. Top restaurants have been invited to participate in the festival and the Bidvest World Chefs Tour Against Hunger will host daily cooking demonstrations.
Come and view artists and craftsmen at work in an authentic marketplace setting. The Piazza will be alive with traditional flag throwers, live chess matches, stylish fashion shows and all the excitement of Italian automotive innovation.
The festival opens with a Viva Verdi! launch concert conducted by Richard Cock on the evening of 15 June at Il Grande Cinema, Nu Metro, Montecasino. A limited amount of tickets for the concert will be on sale at Computicket.

The festival ends on Sunday 19th June with a concert of famous film soundtracks performed by the internationally acclaimed First Trumpet for the Orchestra of the Opera Theatre in Rome.
