SIX GUITARISTS ARE BETTER THAN ONE
Six Guitars are better than one – especially when there are six talented performers that are masters at the art of guitar skills in their own right. The “Ses Snare” - Mathys Roets, Mel Botes, Blackie Swart, Leon Ecroignard, Thean Kotze en Wouter van de Venter - have become one of the most successful shows in the music industry over the past year.
These six musicians may be variable but are hot on stage! These well experienced musicians fills many live performances throughout the country and is a huge drawcard for local Afrikaans Music Festivals. Some of the most popular tracks on their album and DVD consist of J.J. Cale’s Call Me The Breeze, Crosby Stills & Nash’s Teach Your Children, Piet van Wyk de Vries’s Partykeer, Queen’s Crazy Little Thing, Wouter van de Venter’s Warm, Dire Straits’ Sultans of Swing & Blackie Swart’s Hoenderpoot as well as Veronica.
Pink Floyd’s golden oldie, Wish You Were Here, Thean Kotze’s ballade Neem my Saam & Gary Moore’s Parisienne Walkways, Tweeter and the Monkeyman as well as Mel Botes & H. Marais’s Straatjie in my Dorp are being performed by these musicians. The last four songs on the playlist consist of Leonard Cohen’s So Long Marianne, Sting’s hit single Roxanne, The Eagles’ unforgettable Hotel California & Vaya Con Dios ‘s jolly Nah Neh Nah.
There is no "I" in this Team, each individual muso will grab his own piece of glory during the show with his vocal and guitar abilities behind the mic. Matthys gives a new glow on Cohen’s song So Long Marianne, Mel shows off with Wish You Were Here whilst joker Leon thickens his voice to Roxanne.
The compilation of songs during the performance will entertain both young and old. The international hits will embrace a memory of nostalgia mixed with local numbers will create a contemporary feel. |
