MARK SAMPSON FEELS FUNNY 2009 TOUR
MARK SAMPSON FEELS FUNNY was the top selling stand up show at the Grahamstown National Arts Festival in 2008. Mark recently turned 40, and FEELS FUNNY is your chance to come and laugh at his mid-life crisis, happening live onstage.
The show is a comic exploration of the ups and downs of life, featuring a giant game of Snakes and Ladders and a metre-wide inflatable dice. But MARK SAMPSON FEELS FUNNY is not just a middle-aged man with a teenage hair-do playing a kids' game. It's a helter-skelter tumble through the kaleidoscopic twists of Mark's mind, as he reflects on life, from first love to last rites, dodging sharks and stroking whales along the way.
It's a unique comedy concept - depending on the roll of the dice, the audience gets to direct the comedian, so every show is different. Plus there are fabulous Von Zipper sunglasses to be won. "This isn't stand-up as you've ever seen it before" says Sampson "It's more like a scratch-n-sniff interactive pop-up-book for grown-ups!"
Since the original show, a year has passed and Mark has a lot of new material following the ups and downs of Idols, the credit crunch, and a personal epiphany involving a skateboard, a ramp and a piece of hard tarmac. Seven screws and one titanium plate later he's about to embark on the longest tour of his life. If you think comedy works better than therapy in tough times, this is the show for you!
