Jonathan Roxmouth started his career as a performer in theatre productions when he was in nursey school and continued throughout high school. In 2006 he made his debut on a professional stage, in a production of Grease. When perform, you can expect to watch him grace the stage with exhilarating acting and singing. Jonathan’s talent has led to him performing on international stages including New Zealand, China, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Israel, Dubai, South Korea, and Taiwan. Jonathan Roxmouth is a global phenomenon.

Jonathan’s remarkable portrayal of Gason in Pieter Toerien as well as Beauty and the Beast in Hazel Feldman’s production the Disney story, garnered him recognition at the Naledi Theatre Awards, for Best Performance in a Musical and Best Comedy Performance. He has won Fleur Du Cap Theatre Awards, Artes Legends Awards, and a BroadwayWorld Award. Not only is he acknowledged by peers and industry experts, but he has also been voted as one of the Mail & Guardian’s Top 200 South Africans in 2006.  Through his musical flair, Jonathan has received an endorsement by YAMAHA for their range of Grand Pianos, specifically the GC2 model. With this momentous achievement, he has become the first Musical Theatre performer to be receive this.

He is no stranger to performing at the Pieter Toerien Theatre. Jonathan has starred in numerous productions at this legendary stage, including Jesus Christ Superstar, Sunset Boulevard, Beauty and the Beast, Che, The Demon Barber of Street, Cats and Phantom of the Opera.

Following an 8-year hiatus from the Pieter Toerien Theatre, Jonathan Roxmouth is back! In his brand-new show, KEYCHANGE – My Favourite Pianist, Jonathan will showcase more of his comedic and musical talents on the piano plus, the show will also feature other piano based comedians, singers, and entertainers. These supporting acts aren’t just talented performers, but they have also shaped and influenced Jonathan’s musical tastes, throughout his life.

During the KEYCHANGE – My Favourite Pianist performance, Jonathan Roxmouth will be supported by a stunning 5-piece band. Hits by piano rockers Jerry Lee Lewis, Elton John and Billy Joel, pianists Liberace, Richard Clayderman and David Foster, singers Carole King, Burt Bacharach and Freddie Mercury will be performed by Jonathan Roxmouth. The show is about personal pianist performances that are perfect for all music lovers. Expect Jonathan’s tongue-in-cheek humour, pianistic flair, and a few surprises from 25 January to 26 February 2023 at Pieter Toerien Theatre.
