SA Guide Dogs raises R650k

The SA Guide-Dogs Associations annual fundraising ball brought a bevy of beauties out for the night on Saturday – and not just the human kind.

With adorable furry faces to cuddle and kiss, hearts melted and bank transfers were made, all in the name of the life changing work done in improving the lives of the visually impaired through a service dog.

Just over R650k was raised through the World Sight Day Ball, which took place at Montecasino, Gauteng’s premier entertainment destination, for the eleventh consecutive year. The magic of Montecasino provided the perfect atmosphere for the night of glitz and glamour.  Says Mike Page, GM of Montecasino, says, ““We’re extremely proud to be the venue for the SA Guide-Dog Associations World Sight Day Ball, and honored to be a sponsor for a cause that has such a major impact on people’s lives.  At Montecasino our vision is to create great experiences –and guests to the ball were no exception.”

In addition to the venue sponsorship, Montecasino handed over a cheque for R100,000. “Our hope is that our support inspires other corporates to donate whatever is within their budget and means, and that collectively we can make a difference in the lives of the visually impaired,” says Page.
